Freakin Manning Loser Dungy

So much for that plan. I compound my Pats losses by going heavy on the Colts, even though I know Peyton Manning is the next Drew Bledsoe and Tony Dungy is a year away from being canned.

Not that my opinion is worth anything, but I'm now saying the Panthers beat Denver in the Super Bowl.

Pats Lose

I'm disgusted. Two crucial calls that could have gone either way went against us, combined with a ridiculous number of turnovers, spoiled what should have been a terrific victory fot the Patriots. The better team did not win, and I can't wait until Monday so I can bet the money line on the Colts, who now not only get to play every team indoors, they get to play teams with no more recent playoff success than they have. If Manning doesn't win it this year, he never will.

Rice Gets Robbed Again

Jim Rice was so feared as a hitter that there were times when teams would take their second baseman and put him in the outfield, giving them a better chance to track down the ball that would soon be shooting into the gaps.

Don't worry Jim. All real baseball fans know the Hall is a joke.

Marcus Vick

Can you say Lawrence Phillips?

That's right, Marcus. Take that helmet off. You've got bigger problems now, and a career that is quickly disintegrating.

Hey, I know. Let's send him to Larry Miller's house.

Boycott The Bigot

Larry Miller, owner of the Utah Jazz, and apparently at least one movie theater, has decided that Brokeback Mountain can not be shown in his theatre. He's the same man who is able to consistently lead the NBA in number of white players on his roster, something the mainstream press chooses to ignore.

I'm not normally one for economic boycotts except for the most extreme circumstances, but Miller is using his position in the world to impact American culture, so why not use our position to impact him? What I am calling for? Obviously, no one purchases Jazz gear anyway, but people do purchase tickets to see the Jazz play on the road. My request is, STOP DOING THAT! Write a letter to David Stern instead, and tell him you are not attending, or viewing, any NBA game that has the Utah Jazz in it until Larry Miller unloads the team, and there is full investigation into the racist hiring policies of the Utah Jazz.

All Hail The Champions

Texas and TCU are the ECF Champions for this year. Texas is obvious, so how about TCU? Here's the case for them.

They beat a Top Ten team, Oklahoma.
They won every home game.
They lost only one road game, and that by an "acceptable" number of points.
They won their bowl game, without needing overtime.

If that doesn't seem like much, well, its more than anyone else can say. And remember, the goal of the ECF is to not eliminate any team unless there is a good reason, and TCU didn't give us one.

Nick Markakis

Nick Markakis is the rumored centerfielder of interest for the Red Sox in the Manny-Miggy deal. He started last year in Single A Frederick, with a .379 OBP and .480 SLG, then was promoted to AA Bowie, where in 33 games he went .420 and .573.

Works for me.

TCU, then who?

Congratulations to the Horned Frogs, first ECF Champion of the year!
