BAP Update

Just going to give the score's and talk briefly today.

I haven't said this in a few days, so I'm sure newer visitors must be wondering how we choose the games where we give the BAP scores. Because we are limited in people power, it is currently impossible to cover 15 games every single day. So what I've been trying to do is cover only those games that any stat would have difficulty analyzing, games which were decided by one run, and games where the loser had as many or more hits than the winner. This was an attempt to give BAP the very hardest test we could, and see where its faults lay. Since then, I've had a bunch of terrific people volunteer to help, and we're covering even more games.

Well, BAP got off to an amazing start, going 41-1 in those mostly difficult games and beating out OBP and SLG in direct competition. Then it had a surprising day yesterday going 4-2-1. It's important to keep in mind that if we did every game every day the score would most likely be 12-2-1, but still that is far below the standards BAP has set for itself.

We now have people tracking Boston, Baltimore, the Yankees, KC, the White Sox, and Cleveland. All other AL teams, and all NL teams are stiil available. I was telling people that it would take 10-15 minutes a day to follow a team, but now I've got it down to about 7-8 minutes. The more people that are involved, the more interesting info I can present, and the better understanding we'll all have of what BAP is, and its potential. I've got an email list set up for volunteers, too.
